In 1973, we started by delivering vitamins to your doorstep with mail-order vitamin catalogs. 

Today, we’re proud to be a global supplier of more than 1,000 products for wellness – and we strive to support your healthy lifestyle by providing high-quality products at a great value. Simply put, we want to help you live happily and healthily. 

If you’ve been part of our Puritan’s Pride® family for a while, you know that for us, wellness is a way of life.

So as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’re starting by doing what we know best – sharing healthy tips to help you start your new year off on the right foot. 

50 quick wellness tips to improve your health, wellness, and quality of life

You might be thinking: 50 health tips? We know it’s a lot – but over the years we’ve learned a lot about how to help people feel good and thrive. And these tips aren’t meant to incorporate all at once. Take small steps and use what you need most today. After all, healthy living isn’t something you check off of a list. It’s small actions you complete daily. Let’s get started! 

In the kitchen

1. Eat the rainbow to improve your intake of valuable vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. 

2. Squeeze lemon juice into your water to change the taste without adding sugar.

3. Prepare meals ahead of time by meal prepping.

4. Eat healthy fats at every meal, such as olive oil, flaxseed oil, and avocado. 

5. Increase fiber to support digestion.

6. Say no to sugar and avoid foods with more than 5 grams per serving.

7. Increase veggie intake by going meatless one day a week. 

8. Eat more fermented foods to get the benefits of probiotics. 

9. Skip adding salt to any meals post-cooking.

10. Eat breakfast daily to keep energy levels up.

In the bedroom 

11. Keep electronics with disruptive blue light out of the bedroom. 

12. Try melatonin for occasional sleeplessness.*

13. Get enough sleep each night, at least 7-8 hours.

14. Wash your sheets at least once per week, especially your pillowcases.

15. Avoid caffeine after 2 p.m. so it doesn’t disrupt your sleep. Some people may need to avoid caffeine after noon.

16. Sleep in a cool environment, using 65 degrees as a baseline.

17. Make your bedroom a relaxing environment that promotes healthy sleep. 

18. Avoid intense exercise before bed.

19. Limit naps during the day if you have trouble sleeping at night.

20. Go to bed around the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, even on the weekends.

Go the extra mile

21. Create a self-care retreat just for you.

22. Try the buddy system during your next workout to stay accountable.

23. Volunteer! It’s a great way to socialize and boost your mood.

24. Get outdoors and get fresh air at least once a day. 

25. Invest in a pillow that supports the alignment of your neck and head.

26. Make an effort to ditch a bad habit and replace it with a healthier one – but only focus on one at a time to increase your odds of success. 

27. Schedule a relaxing massage.

28. Smile and laugh as often as you can to improve your mood. 

29. Take a class and learn something new, like a language or hobby.

30. Work on improving your posture by standing and sitting up straight. 

At play 

31. Wear sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, even on cloudy days.

32. Soothe skin from the sun – or windburn with aloe vera gel. 

33. Try yoga – it’s a low-impact activity to improve flexibility and reduce stress. 

34. Try a new fitness class to mix up your usual workout routine.

35. Incorporate strength training to decrease the risk of injury. 

36. Stretch every morning to wake up and get your blood moving.

37. Get a facial to rejuvenate your skin. 

38. Dance to your favorite music to have fun and feel youthful.

39. Live in the moment as much as possible to enjoy each day.

40. Make sexual health a wellness goal. 

Daily practice

41. Stay hydrated to keep joints lubricated, protect tissues, remove waste, and much more. 

42. Get adequate sleep to restore your vital systems and help your mind stay clear and focused. 

43. Move – Regular exercise helps reduce stress and improves sleep health, heart health, brain health, and more. 

44. Practice hobbies – Do something you love daily to improve your mental outlook. 

45. Connect  – Get in touch with a loved one 

46. Find a daily multivitamin that is the right fit for you. 

47. Schedule your necessary doctor’s appointments and get your checkups regularly. 

48. Find ways to increase movement, such as taking the stairs or going for a short walk. 

49. Reduce stress to improve all aspects of well-being.
