Tart Cherry Tonic Recipe

16-pp-1595-social-blogbanners_cherry Like raspberries, strawberries, kidney beans, and beets, cherries contain anthocyanins, antioxidants that are responsible for fighting cell-damaging free radicals and give these fruits and vegetables their rich red color.

In this recipe, we paired up herb turmeric (which supports antioxidant health*), with tart cherry juice to create a nutritious drink that can be enjoyed any hour of the day.

¼ cup pineapple juice
½ cup tart cherry juice
¼ cup warm or cold water (your preference)
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon manuka honey

Mix all ingredients in a jar and stir until turmeric and honey are dissolved.

Makes 1-2 servings.

We take both every day, in capsule form from Puritan’s Pride. In fact, I just ordered 6 more bottles of tart cherry because it and the tumeric are very good for calming joint pain. I fell and broke my right femur and damaged both knees 3/3/2015 and refused the 2 surgeries and the total knee replacements the doc told me I would have to have if I was to ever walk again. I spent 4 months in a ‘lift’ chair at home, never left that chair once, only standing to transfer to the bedside commode. My husband cared for me as tenderly as if I was a newborn. He cooked, cleaned, did the laundry and dishes, took care of the animals, and helped me wash. I healed and I am now as good as new. I will always take the tart cherry and Tumeric. We take several PP products and will never be without them. Thank you.
