Saffron and Turmeric Golden Milk Recipe


17-PP-1052-SOCIAL-Saffron Golden milk is a warm and comforting traditional Ayurvedic drink that has been around for centuries in India. Turmeric gives this drink its beautiful golden color, and also provides antioxidant support.*

Ingredients

2 cups milk (dairy, almond, or soy)
2 teaspoons organic extra virgin coconut oil
1 tablespoon organic 100% pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon organic turmeric powder
½ teaspoon organic cinnamon powder
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
Pinch of saffron

Directions

In a small saucepan, heat milk on low-medium heat. Once warm, add the rest of the ingredients and whisk until they are absorbed into the milk.

Pour into mugs and sprinkle more cinnamon on top as a garnish.

Makes 1-2 servings.

    This looks delicious and nutritious. I like that it’s served warm! At our grocers, we can now also purchase Oat milk and Almond milk that have supplementary protein. The Almond milk (with protein) has the consistency and flavor (almost) of real milk. The Oat milk (with protein added) is thinner and darker, but works well in many beverages. Thanks for this recipe, Melissa.
