Deep Conditioning Banana, Honey, and Coconut Oil Hair Mask

17-pp-1009-social-blogbanners-hair Is winter wreaking havoc on your hair? Many of us need extra moisturizing in the winter months on both the skin and hair, but if you regularly suffer from dry and dull hair, this mask can be used year-round. This deep conditioning treatment contains bananas, which aids in softening, while coconut oil adds shine, and honey keeps all of that moisture locked in place.

2 very ripe bananas
1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
2 tablespoons raw honey

Optional: Lavender, peppermint, or rose essential oil. Adding a couple of drops of your favorite oil will mask the banana smell.

Add bananas to blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Check the consistency to make sure that you won’t end up with banana chunks getting stuck in your hair.

Add coconut oil and honey to the mixture, and blend.

If you want to enjoy aromatherapy during application, add two drops of your favorite essential oil to the mix.

Divide hair into sections and massage the mask in from root to tip. When each section is done, pile on top of head until the hair is gathered into a bun. Cover with a shower cap and let the mask sit for 15-30 minutes depending on the dryness of your hair.

Rinse hair with warm or cool water. To remove any potential banana chunks, rinse with shampoo or conditioner.
